Visual FAIR (First Article Inspection Report)
Martin Aerospace undertook a trial of VisualFAIR process improvement software, supplied by I.P.I Solutions Ltd, during the last quarter of 2008. The software was seen as the next logical step in the development of existing robust processes for FAIR creation and as a tool to fully utilize all electronic data available on the Martin Aerospace IT network.
The trial proved very successful with significant improvements in compilation time, elimination of human errors and improved presentation of the completed FAIR pack.
The software’s ease of use has also allowed the quick ballooning of drawings for technical and dimensional data during the contract review process.
As a result of the successful trial Martin Aerospace have now purchased a 3 user system and have to date completed over 130 FAIR's with further 100+ prepared prior to launching for production.
